A selection of lighting atmospheres and visual transitions from The Rest Will Be Familiar to You from Cinema, Martin Crimp’s rewriting of The Phoenician Women by Euripides, directed by Veronica Cruciani.
The work relocates the tragedy of Thebes into a bare classroom-like environment, where war is not directly represented but recalled through bodies, voices, objects and fragmented memory.
Within this space, the myth returns as something already seen and yet never fully understood: a lesson that cannot be learned, an image that keeps repeating, a memory that remains suspended in the bodies of those who have witnessed too much.
The lighting design shaped the stage through institutional clarity, fragile visibility and suspended darkness, constructing a visual field between classroom, archive, testimony and dreamlike recollection.
