SINTETICO MACHINES is a design and research practice creating immersive experiences, interactive systems and visual narratives. We work across live performance, exhibitions and events, collaborating with artists, cultural institutions and brands.

Our work investigates how people perceive and engage with the spaces and systems around them. Light, moving image and interactive technologies are the materials through which we explore these relationships.

We develop projects from initial concept through to production and live operation. Research and technical development are part of the same process, shaped by the context of each commission and our dialogue with collaborators.

Led by Marco Calzolari, the practice is based in Ferrara, Italy, and works internationally.
