An interactive audiovisual installation developed in collaboration with Plam Studio, presented as part of Climate Wunderkammer — a Collateral Event of the 18th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia, 2023, held at Palazzo Badoer, IUAV University of Venice.
Murmuration takes as its visual model the natural phenomenon of murmurations — the emergent, collective behavior of flocks of birds — translating it into a real-time particle system projected at wall scale. The installation represents the contributions and ideas collected in the Climate Wunderkammer digital archive, mapping them as interconnected flows orbiting the planet.
At the center of the room, a MIDI controller allowed visitors to interact directly with the particle system — each pad triggering a specific sound and a corresponding movement in the projected stream, leaving a trace of each interaction in the audiovisual output. SINTETICO was responsible for developing the communication layer between the MIDI controller and the Unreal Engine particle system, enabling the real-time dialogue between physical input and generative visual output.
